Week 6 Term 2 2009

Introduction
Over the next two weeks we will be looking at using Business Technology. This means hardware such as printers, scanners, dvd burners and photocopiers. It means software that will include web pages.

You will find the basis for this at this website.

The next area that we will be looking at is creating and maintaining a website. This will involve the following areas:

1. Introduction to HTML using the Pagetutor.com website
2. Creating an online website using Google Sites tools
3. Considering good design guidelines so that you are aware of some of the things to and not to do when creating a website.

Starting with HTML

1. Go to the Pagetutor website. (This is a great website. Well worth the money to join up.)
2. Do enough of the lessons 1 - 25 to complete Exercises 1 - 6

Creating a Google Goodies website

1. You might want to have a look at a couple of Youtube clips.
2. First, there is Google Sites #1: How to Create a New Site.
3. Next, there is Google Sites #2: How to Edit and Add Media to your Google Site.
4. Upload these to your Google Goodies website that you will create.

Next for a bit of fun, look at these really terrible websites.
