Goals for this class

1. to become familiar with which programs can be used to create a website.



2. to decide which one to use and when.

Case Study

The VU We Walk Your Doggie For You business needs a website. You get to create it and it should have five pages - index page, map page, about us page, Contact us page and a Products Page.

Task 1

Your first task is to use the VU computer room to create a similar website several times using different programs - Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Frontpage or the newer version of FrontPage (??).

Then discuss which one that you find easier to use and explain why you feel that way about it.

Task 2

The situation is that you need to use your computer at home to create another version of the website. This time you will be using Google Sites and you will have a partner so that you can split up the work load between you.

Task 3 (in the future when we get Dreamweaver loaded onto the computers in the classroom)

Learn how to use dreamweaver to create more advanced websites.
