Welcome back!
Hi everyone!
It has been almost a month since we have had a class - me away for a week, school holidays, and Monday was a student free day.
There are only four more weeks of class before the Year 11 exams start on Tuesday, November 11, 2009.
Here is a checklist for you to use to make sure that you are up to date with the work for assessment.
The following students do not need to worry about the check list since you are up to date - Prudence, Zarnay, Nay Lin, Moobwe, Cho Lay, Muh, Muh Eh ser,Troy, and Alex.
The rest of you need to use the check list to make sure that you are up to date. I will accept work that is still due up to November 5, 2009. After that, it will not be accepted.
In class today
First we need to revise a few topics in Word - keyboard shortcuts, creating tables, and writing a business letter.
- Fill in the printed sheet (page 251) handed out in class. Put your name on it and hand it in before you go.
- Create a table in Word of the printed sheet that you have completed before (Activity 3 on Page 254). Print it out with a footer that has your name, subject and the date. Then hand this one to me as well.
- Complete the sample letter from page 255 as part of Activity 4. Use your business logo that you created a few weeks ago and the title of your small business with imaginary contact details (rather than your real contact details). Print a copy of the letter to hand up to me withe usual footer with your name subject and the date. Then upload this to your Wordpress blog and post the link on the class blog.
- Complete Activity 5 on page 256
- Make a copy of the file to work on so that you do not ruin the original (Not necessary in Picasa).
- Set the resolution for either print or screen.
- Crop the image.
- Adjust the overall contrast and tonal range of the image.
- Remove any colour casts.
- Adjust colour and tone to bring out highlights, midtones, shadows and desaturated colours.
- Sharpen the overall focus of the image.
Now show me what you can do with this image to change it from a wallpaper size to a screen size of 10 cm width by 8 cm height. Edit the image any way that you want to - could be a tree, or just the figure of the person, what ever you want to do with it. Go wild, child!
