Goals for this week

1. Contribute to a class wiki
2. Complete Project 1 (Jobs 1-6) for International Travel Services Client
3. Work in pairs to investigate Web 2.0 tools for communication and collaboration
4. More on being a digital citizen (Being safe on the Internet)

Wikis
A wiki is a web site where everyone and anyone can not only write on the website, but they can also change what others have written.

Have you heard of and used Wikipedia? Click on the language that you want to read. Then type in wikis and see what comes up.

Here is one simple explanation of wikis. And here is another from a different viewpoint.

There are several wiki sites that are popular. These include Wetpaint, Wikispaces and pbworks.

For assessment for today

1. Open up on account with PBWorks . If you already have a PBWorks account from your IT class, then use that one to sign in.
2. Create your own page on the class wiki and add a short paragraph about yourself and add a background image that appeals to you. Add another heading called My Business. After this heading, describe the kind of business that you would like to create and call your own.
3. Go to the page section and look for Cool Tools for Schools table. Add a short review of the website assigned to you to this page. Include your name in the heading.
